More Gallery Info

I opened the gallery in August of 2008 as a venue for my artwork and as a location to showcase other local artists. I first moved into the building in March of 2005 as a shop location in which to run my steel fabrication company Prima Metal Works. I started Prima Metal Works in June of 2000 as a metal fabrication shop that has evolved into a high-end custom furniture company. The building started out as a basic metal shop and then the need for a showroom prompted me to transform the small unfriendly second floor into a large high functioning Gallery space where I have hosted many art and entertainment events. At the same time a had a great desire to be a part in helping to transform the once depressed looking neighborhood into a place for artists and artisans to gather, network and make a difference in the community. I am constantly working on communicating to my audience that anything can change with vision, perseverance, devotion to beauty, and countless hours of hard work. I like to use this modo in everything that I do. I believe anything and anyone can be transformed into something of beauty and greatness. The design of the Gallery comes from the knowledge I have gained working with many of the top designers in the industry and from the industrial nature of the building itself. The Gallery was intended to be a work of art on its own. This is because much of art has to do with contrast and the beauty held inside the building is in stark contrast with the warehouse look of the exterior. Everyone who enters the Gallery space is surprised by what the building holds. It is a sight that people don't expect and when the experience takes over, each person has an emotional reaction of some degree that they will not forget, and that experience to me is art.

"Royall Payne"

Everyone has a certain amount of pain in their life. This piece was designed and made to express pain felt by anyone of the human race, as well as to help alleviate pain by bringing a majesty into the life of the viewer yet only for a moment. It is meant to be functional to all who visit the piece. By sitting in this chair i hope to bring peace and comfort to help distance one self from negative energy and bring them into a positive realm in which we all wish and strive to live.

The Isaac Rush Chair
This piece was specifically designed for Issac Rush. I used elements from Isaac's personality, taste, and style to create this functional work of art that he can use in his home and photography work.

Three Funny Comics, One Freakin' Night!

The Live Stand-Up Comedy show at the Gallery on January 23rd 2009 was the most exciting show yet. I was lucky to have such incredible Stars to work with. Special thanks to Michael Birkeland, Mitch English, and Dustin Chafin. Many laughs and good times that night. Really fun getting to know the guys, going to Sundance parties, setting up for the show, and watching Mitch English do the Robot dance. I will never forget it guys!

Funniest show of the year!
